Simplify and Declutter Your Life
Are you decluttering and simplifying your life?
By simplifying and decluttering our lives, we create a more organized, peaceful environment that allows us to focus on what matters most.
Her Life Was Simply Clutter Free...
Linda's aunt was very wise with her journey through her golden years. Her wisdom involved "simplifying". Over the years, she had literally given all family heirlooms to her family and had gotten rid of all non-essentials. She had learned that the really "the only thing we leave this life with, is what we leave to others". Her life was simply "clutter free".
On the other hand, we have also literally sifted through 3 generations of "stuff", requiring the use of a "horse trailer" to transport old, outdated items to the local landfill. Ultimately, my sister held a several week-end "garage sale".
FAMILY HEIRLOOMS
Linda, over the past several years, has sorted through years of accumulation. Family heirlooms are being given to family members. No longer needed, items are being donated to local thrift shops. Her father's World War II memorabilia, so they could be preserved, have been donated to the community museum where he had his family medical practice. The museum was thrilled to receive the historical items; we were grateful that his history was being preserved for future generations. Linda's mother's paintings are being given to family members.

A large number of family heirloom photos have been digitized using our scanner and our smart phone' camera. Digital copies are preserved on the computer and made available to family members and have been uploaded to Family Search (familysearch.org) for preservation.
Although there is more to be done, we are making progress toward a goal of "simply clutter free"!!
